Tom & Mendes NY 1962

Tom Jobim was a genius and a lovely person. When I was 21, I went to his house in Ipanema and he took me to the boats so I could go back to Niterói. He was a master! We worked until dawn. He made arrangements for me. A wonderful person!

Tom was already famous with the Oscar for Orfeu. I was dazzled! We went to NY in 1962.

Without him Without Tom Jobim and his beautiful melodies there would be no bossa nova or there would be no success of bossa nova
